Vast wilderness is usually deemed as bleak and even terrifying. But
I see more excitement in the bleak wilderness, for its plain, primitive,
unpolluted and undeveloped. It is virgin land, reflecting the most
essential and fundamental power of nature.
The sympathetic response to the wilderness is a result of cultural
and historic value. As a member of the society, artist perceives the
interactive relationship between men and the nature, and represents that
in various ways.
Everything can turn to become art. From this perspective, the
feelings wilderness brings to me become even stronger. In a sense,
wilderness per se contains some spirit of Zen. It is an expression of
art. Wilderness is infinite and will not be limited or affected by human
factors. It is endless, features no fixed state and evolves constantly.
Originally, the nature was supposed to be plain and simple. It was
human beings that broke such plainness and simplicity.
But nowadays the plain and simple wilderness turns to become what
urban dwellers look forward to. People pay visits to the wilderness,
explore the wilderness and have their fun. They treasure and exploit the
precious lands that have not been excessively developed, and start to
care about the significance and necessity of wilderness to the natural
ecology as well as the human society.
Wilderness is primitive. Wilderness is pure. All natural elements
seem to find themselves a comfortable place here. Excessive exploitation
of resources and exhaustive changes have turned the plain and simple
nature into a kind of cold-blooded beauty. The nature has been putting
up with the invasion of human beings for quite a time. But men shall not
be too selfish or too ambitious. The debts will need to be paid sooner
or later. Men have to learn to stay sober and cool. Only in this way can
we truly enjoy the vitality and beauty of the nature. We can also learn
from the plainness and simplicity of the nature if not weighing too much
on practical benefits
What the earth needs is its natural villages and well-behaved
I dont think what created by men can never be on a par with what
created by the nature. To make peace with the nature is the ultimate
state human beings should look forward to.
